Insert or Embed Flash/swf Video in Blogger Post

00:38

Have you made an awesome flash video or banner for promoting your product or for any other purpose and want to insert/embed the flash video in your blogger post but do not know how? However one must think it might be easy by just inserting the swf video from the Video Insert feature given in the blogger post features but as you publish the video you'll see that the swf file doesn't play with the feature so how to insert it?

One way to do it easily is by uploading the video on Youtube and embed the video in your blog post.However if you donot want to display the Youtube play controls then how'll you embed a swf video file in Blogger Post.
In this Post i'm going to tell you this trick using dropbox. However there are many blogs out there teaching you how to do this but that old method doesn't works now as Dropbox has stopped public folder since July 31st, 2012. SEE MORE INFO HERE.
If you have a dropbox account made after July 31st, 2012 you have to do a change in it to make that trick work and insert your swf video file in your post.

For Proof you can see this post which shows you my flash video made from Googles' Doodles on FIFA World cup 2014.

Steps:

1. Make a Flash Video with your pictures.

For making the above video I used the Wondershare Flash Gallery Factory Deluxe because it was only working software i got to make swf video and embed.
a) First Install the software, and then open it. Choose the Slideshow mode only not the Gallery Mode as gallery mode will create three elements namely resource folder, html file and an swf file which can't be embed using dropbox so choose the slideshow mode only.

b) Browse to the folder where ll your photos have been put and add all the photos, Then choose whatever transition effects you want, what preloder, background color and image and other options and Publish the as video(swf) file.

After the flash file is completely published you'll get get a HTML code, copy the code for putting in the blogger post like this.

<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9.0.0.0" height="495" id="sf" viewastext="" width="660">
  <param name="movie" value="World Cup 2014 #10.swf" />
  <param name="quality" value="high" />
  <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
  <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" />
  <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" />
  <embed src="SWF FILE DROPBOX URL" quality="high" name="sf" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="660" height="495"></embed>
</object>

2. Make a dropbox account

.....if you don't have any.
a) Go to Dropbox.com and sinup.
b) Install dropbox desktop client to your PC or Install free dropbox app on your smartphone.
c) Upload the flash/swf video file to you dropbox.
d) Wait untill the file is completely uploaded and click on share link to get the link of swf file.

3. Embed/insert the file in blogger post

a) Go to the blog post HTML Section and paste the above code :

<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9.0.0.0" height="495" id="sf" viewastext="" width="660">
  <param name="movie" value="World Cup 2014 #10.swf" />
  <param name="quality" value="high" />
  <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
  <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" />
  <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" />
  <embed src="SWF FILE DROPBOX URL" quality="high" name="sf" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="660" height="495"></embed>
</object>

b) Change embed src value to the Dropbox share link of the swf file which we have just obtained.It will be something like this:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/qr4y1bvy1a6id5j/World%20Cup%202014.1.swf  "

c) Change the URL : You need to replace "www by dl"  &  "dropbox by dropboxusercontent"so that the new URL will look like this:
" https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/qr4y1bvy1a6id5j/World%20Cup%202014.1.swf "

d) Preview the blog post and check your flash video is working or not.

This trick will help you embed the flash/swf file in the bog post. Don't forget to comment and share your flash videos with us.
